MEET TARRYN COETZEE

Hi, I’m Tarryn, licensed SMP artist and founder behind Skins and Needles, and now proudly offering services under Fauxlicle Ink. As a tattoo artist, I’ve always been passionate about using my creativity to help people feel confident in their own skin. Over the years, I’ve been inspired by how tattooing can truly transform lives—from scar camouflage to areola reconstruction—and I realized I wanted to take that impact even further.

That’s when I discovered Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP). This innovative technique was the perfect way to combine my artistic skills with my passion for helping others reclaim their confidence. I trained intensively with industry-leading SMP experts in a program that emphasized precision, natural-looking results, and ethical practices.

When I’m not in the studio, I’m out exploring the hidden gems of the Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound, and the Inside Passage on my sailboat. I love fishing for lingcod (I’ve got a knack for finding the best spots!) and sharing tips on the best bait for crabbing. Treasure hunting is another passion of mine—whether it’s panning for gold, scouring thrift stores, or metal detecting for hidden gems. At home, I enjoy cozy bonfires, co-creating art with my daughter, or cuddling my chiweenie, Bruce.
